@T7g: you *may* be thinking of someone else, I've never written a VB strategy game. My last (public) project before Ogre was Deathmatch Manager, and a few years before that I published a couple of software 3D engines. You might have encountered me through those maybe...

@Ciaran: thanks, I did look at SPF but didn't think I understood it enough, I'll have to read up more.

If you don't already, setting up an SPF record on your domains significantly reduces the amount of backscatter, since enlightened mailservers will recognise the incoming spam's FROM address as a fake and drop it before even thinking about sending you the NDR.

It doesn't reduce it enough to stop it being annoying though, so I think I'll implement a filter like yours. Thanks for sharing.

A long, long, time ago I believe we used to chat about working together on your project before OGRE. The Visual Basic strategy game engine. For the life of me I can't remember what you called it but we used to discuss it quite a bit somewhere like eight plus years ago.

I was flipping through the summer of code page to see what new features would be coming to my favorite open source applications and when I saw OGRE I was reminded of a time long ago when you showed me your first prototype of it.

Just thought I'd say hi, Zbad. If indeed I am correct in assuming who you are, and I just thought I'd stop in to say hello!
