Ying and Yang

Games

The good: Rock Band finally arrived! It’s sitting on my coffee table ready for us to launch ourselves into it this evening. Yummy. If you wanted something done urgently on Ogre, well, you’re probably out of luck for a few days ;)

The bad: I managed to put my back out again - not sure how, maybe when sorting out the gigantic box of instruments, fishing behind the TV to wire the USB hub up, or maybe I’ve just been spending too much time sat crookedly at the PC recently (I was at it most of the bank holiday weekend). It’s annoying how I can go for weeks with no problems and then knacker it through something trivial.  Gah.

Hope you like the new site style, been meaning to upgrade the style to a more recent set of WordPress functionality but only just got around to it. Figured if I didn’t do it now, it wasn’t going to get done for a while now RB is out :)

Wow, the ROCK BAND tag of this blog is HUGE…

    No wonder why :D

Enjoy it! I’ve finished the guitar career on my PS2 and it’s way more fun that those frustrating songs from GHIII.

It’s a little misleading because I only started using tags in addition to categories rather recently, and Rock Band has been on my mind a lot lately :)

oooo, pretty. I’m still on the fence about using a freebie wordpress blog or freebie live spaces. I do like the word press blogs, very clean.

So have to have a bash at that when I get back :P

Yay! May the Lords of Kobol bless your righteous shredding.

Looking forward to hearing from you in a couple of weeks once you have time again for the “tubes”. ;)

Honestly, I liked the old one better, but it is your blog, if you like it, go ahead.

The new design looks nice, but I found the old one somewhat more legible. This one seems more cramped somehow. But, like SunSailor said, it is your blog, and I value the content far more than the site design!

However, while I’m whining, does anyone actually use those “share this post” icons? I never have. Things would look a lot cleaner if those icons could be hidden or removed…

And, while I’m being selfish, it would also be nice if there was a “Preview” feature when posting. I’m one of those lunatics who actually likes to make sure they haven’t made a mistake in their post before they subm

Ah well, I can’t please everyone :) I’ve made a few tweaks to make the headers a little more prominent which I like better, and format the comments a little better. I may tweak it over time, the important thing was to get a modern theme that is properly compatible with WP 2.0+ instead of the WP 1.5 and earlier hack I had. Seemed a good time for a change too.

Hey, that looks a bit better. Another suggestion - if you aren’t already planning on tweaking it - is to fix the position/alignment of the header (”SteveStreeting.com”) and sub-header. They seem a little “floaty”, and they would probably look better if they both lined up along the same leftmost axis. Maybe try switching the colours between the two, as well.

Also, I hope your back gets better soon, Steve! :) (I have back issues, too, so I feel your pain.)

I actually meant to do an image for the header but ran out of time. Thanks for the suggestions, more tweaking over time for sure…

Perhaps a change from Arial font to Lucida Grande or Verdana would be nice as well. Arial always seemed a bit narrow to me. :)

There’s no preview feature, and I want to see how the blog likes <fake_html_tags> … so I’ll just try them here. :P
