About Me
I’m Steve Streeting, a software developer based on a little rock called Guernsey, an island off the coast of Normandy, France.
Contrary to my insular location, my primary purpose right now is heading up a very popular open source 3D engine called ‘OGRE‘ – something I started in my spare time in 2001 but which has now got really out of hand, with team members in 5 countries and thousands of users throughout the world. Until recently I led something of a double life – by day, I wrote large enterprise systems in Java (mostly), whilst by night I wrote realtime 3D software in C++. In late 2006 I took the plunge to run my company, Torus Knot Software Ltd, full time, offering software consultancy and contract work to the world as well as continuing to develop Ogre and Ogre-related products. If you like you can view my LinkedIn Profile. I also have a fledgling entry on MobyGames although I don’t often get directly credited personally when Ogre is used in a game.
I’m happily married to my other half, Marie. Not that it’s any of your business
